State QPL & Approved Products Lists — All 50 States

Direct links to every state DOT’s Qualified Products List or Approved Products List

If your product needs to be on a state’s Qualified Products List (QPL) or Approved Products List (APL) before agencies can purchase it, this directory will get you to the right page. Not sure what a QPL is? Read our What is a QPL? guide first.

Important: States use different names for their lists — QPL, APL, AML (Authorized Materials List), QCML, Materials Source Guide, etc. They all serve the same purpose: identifying products approved for use on state projects. Some states maintain searchable online databases while others publish PDF documents.

What to Do Once You Find Your State’s QPL

  • Check if your product category is listed. Not all products need QPL approval — it depends on the state and category.
  • Review the submission requirements. Each state has a different process for getting products evaluated and added to their list.
  • Prepare test reports. Most states require independent lab testing per ASTM, AASHTO, or state-specific standards.
  • Submit your application. Typically includes product data sheets, test reports, and a formal application form.
  • Allow processing time. QPL approval can take weeks to months. Plan ahead of your bid deadlines.
  • Renew regularly. Most QPL listings expire and require periodic renewal with updated test data.
