Vendor Registration
California uses Cal eProcure (California State Contracts Register) for vendor registration and procurement. To do business with the state, you must register as a vendor through their portal.

Finding Bid Opportunities
Active solicitations, RFPs, and bid opportunities are posted on the state’s eProcurement platform:
- California eProcurement / Bid Portal — browse and respond to current solicitations
What You Will Need to Register
- FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number) — your business tax ID. Learn more about FEIN/EIN
- UEI (Unique Entity Identifier) — obtained through SAM.gov. Learn more about UEI
- CAGE Code — assigned when you register in SAM.gov. Learn more about CAGE codes
- Business legal name, address, phone, email, and authorized contacts
- Commodity/service codes — used to match your business with relevant bid opportunities
Small Business & Minority Programs
California offers programs to assist small, minority-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned businesses in competing for government contracts.
Additional Information
California uses UNSPSC (United Nations Standard Products and Services Code) instead of NAICS codes for product/service classification. Cal eProcure provides access to the State Contracting and Procurement Registration System (SCPRS), Small Business (SB) and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) certification, and statewide Leveraged Procurement Agreement (LPA) search.
